NOTES:
This plant is semi-evergreen to deciduous in the Piedmont of NC and flowers in October through November at a time when not many woody plants are blooming. The species is dioecious having both male and female plants. Honey is light colored, but has a bad odor, however, it is reported to be well flavored after curing in the hive.
